I get you. I’ve been there.
M personal journey is probably similar to yours and it’s what has brought me to this point.
When I was in my mid-fifties, I started to feel like I was fading, almost like I was becoming invisible. I wasn’t sleeping well, I didn’t have any energy, I was gaining weight and I didn’t have the spring in my step OR the desire to do much of anything. I felt like I looked older that I should and was worried that this was going to be what the rest of my life was going to be like – invisible.
Old, fat and wrinkled, not longer valued at work and with unsatisfying personal relationships. My posture changed, my body changed and I didn’t like the changes that were happening.
I decided to go to see my physician, thinking there had to be something physically wrong with me. After a thorough exam I was told there was nothing wrong with me, it was just part of the aging process.
I knew this wasn’t true because my fitness coach told me my metabolism was so low that she was surprised I was awake and walking around.
Shortly after I happened up a woman 80s celebrating her birthday at a local restaurant. I saw her vibrancy. She was laughing and everyone around her was so engaged and enjoying her wit and her company.
I wanted to be that woman. I wanted to age like that. I didn’t want to be like a faded Hollywood star chasing youth. I wanted to write my own story on my own terms. I wanted to be like Meryl Streep or Helen Mirren. These woman have aged in their industry – one that relies on looks and they have kept working on their terms … They have aged beautifully and not gotten old.
I am fortunate that with over 30 years of medical experience as a pharmacist have given me access to new and exciting innovations in the medical field. I study holistic methods and believe in treating the body as naturally as possible – which given my background has been interesting at times!
I also have over 10 years of dancing and teaching Argentine Tango with has given me a way to experiment with movement in a fun and exciting way. It celebrates my drive to live life fully and in a holistic manner.
I want to share my knowledge with women that were like me – losing confidence and feeling invisible. I created An Ageless Life to help woman that are facing the same challenges that I faced.
My program helps women to enjoy life no matter what their age – to fully embody the adage “age is just a number it is how you live your life that counts.
Welcome! I understand. I’ve also looked in the mirror and felt old.
When I was in my early 50’s I felt invisible. I couldn’t sleep. I had no energy. I was gaining weight. I looked and felt old. Was this going to be my fate? My life?
It wasn’t supposed to be this way! I wanted to be the vibrant and lively woman that I saw at a local restaurant celebrating her 80th birthday. She was surrounded by people who enjoyed her company, her wit, and her laughter. I wanted that!
I wanted to age with vitality and grace, like Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren.
As a clinical pharmacist with over 35 years of experience and a tango instructor for over a decade, I created “An Ageless Life.” It’s designed to help women overcome the same challenges I faced. Age is just a number, it’s how you live your life that counts.
